Our client is a global, listed, American company. with a varied portfolio of products and services aimed at the health, fertility and diagnostics of women.
From Venlo, a new logistics operation will be started from 'scratch'. From this new DC in Venlo their products will be delivered to health care professionals and institutions.

Functieomschrijving (inclusief taken en verantwoordelijkheden)

The Transport Coordinator-Specialist will work in close conjunction with the International Customer Service Department to facilitate shipping of all international orders for the new location in Venlo. You organize international shipments with carriers to the MEA-region & Africa, verify compliance procedures and you are responsible for the right export documentation. You will also expedite orders through the queuing system to prioritize the workload and flow of the international shipments. 
This assignment is for 3-4 months and during this time you train/coach/instruct your successor. 
Essential duties:
  • Determine the most economical means of shipping product to customer, using alternate avenues as applicable¬†
  • Accurately prepare all necessary documentation for international shipments such as commercial invoices, shipper‚Äôs letter of instruction, endorsement form, airway bills and bill of loading¬†
  • Liaise directly with customer and the international customer team providing export documents, shipping and delivery status
  • Follow transport performance on a daily basis¬†
  • Contacts forwarding company, as needed, for air freight shipments to obtain rate quotes. Incorporate rates on invoice¬†
  • Contacts carriers via phone as needed to obtain quotes and schedule pickups¬†
  • Enters shipments into computer system so invoice is generated, including freight charges¬†
  • Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management

Profiel van geschikte kandidaat

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in AIR/ocean transportation and export documentation for the MEA-region and Africa¬†
  • Ability to understand and interpret Harmonized Tariff Codes, extensive knowledge of import and export rules and regulations¬†
  • Profound knowledge of international transportation and freight systems¬†
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills¬†
  • Possesses proven problem analysis and solution development skills¬†
  • Ability to multitask in a time sensitive environment¬†
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills and knowledge of ERP and shipping systems¬†
  • General knowledge of warehouse procedures and environment. Position will reside in the Distribution Center¬†
  • Passing of background check, which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction history, educational and driving records
