The products produced by the Nafta crackers on site are to be stored by the department Logistics C&I. One of the products that is to be stored is propylene. To control the pressure in the spherical storage vessels, which store the C3 products, cooling measures are in place. During summer, at elevated temperatures, the pressure in the propylene storage vessels increases. For controlling the pressure in this situation, extra measures are desired. The intern is tasked with the investigation of ways to increase pressure and temperature control for the C3 storage vessels.
The internship is suited as an end of year project and will last three to six months.
The Geleen Chemelot site encompasses two naphtha crackers. The products from the crackers are used to create various different products, such as LDPE, HDPE and PP, These products are produced both on as off site. To maintain stable operation, the cracker products and feedstock have to be stored, distributed and their quality must be insured. This is done by the department Logistics C&I.
The department Logistics C&I is specialized in the storage, distribution and handling of Hydrocarbons. To perform its tasks properly the department operates six tank farms, several distribution networks and pipelines to customers and two loading-unloading complexes: Railway and Truck handling, and inland harbor.
Language requirements: The intern should at least speak English. Speaking Dutch is a plus
Most important competencies: We are looking for an intern who is able to cooperate with different stakeholders in a multidisciplinary team, maintain an overview while solving the problem, but is also able to solve parts of the problem in more detail.
