he “Technical Products” department is part of the Global Technology Automotive organization within SABIC Petrochemicals”, called GTA-TP. This Department aims to develop high added value products for automotive applications, focusing on PP-compounds and PP-LGF (STAMAX) products. Differentiated PP-compounds are developed with low time to market based on automotive customer requirements.

Successful development of innovative solutions is achieved through the combination of product knowledge, manufacturing know-how and application design. In close collaboration with manufacturing (TPT) and business (VT) we strive for optimal efficiency at maximized profitability. In addition strong collaborations exist with other Technology Departments, Marketing, Commercial team and Market Development & Technical Service colleagues and customers.

The “Technical Products” department is a global team located in the Netherlands, US and China.
Currently, a vacancy exists for an Automotive PP-compound formulation expert for the EU region within Global Technology Automotive (R&D).

As engineer of the “Technical Product” group of Global Technology Automotive, you will be responsible for developing new PP-compound formulations and manage the product portfolio for our compound asset in EU.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • PP-compound developments to develop PP formulations to meet Market Needs within existing Design Space and coordinating concomitant TCO activities
  • Prototyping related to Product and Application Development Projects
  • Up-scaling to Production and monitoring Pre-Launch Performance
  • Defining Processing Windows and Product Specifications
  • Solving Product Design related issues in Running Business
  • Assimilate Market Performance in Product Design FMEA
  • Providing Product Documentation and Training
  • Managing Raw Material and Portfolio Policies
  • Managing Competitor Product Intelligence

Profiel van geschikte kandidaat

  • PhD. or master degree in the field of expertise (e.g. Polymer Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Ability to lead, direct, guide, plan & develop new projects & programs
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work with global teams in a remote environment
  • Polymer, Processing and Characterization Technologies
  • Excellent English
  • Knowledgeable in the use of process oriented tools associated (e.g. six sigma GB/BB certified, FMEA).
