The Predictive Engineering & Structures Department is part of the Global Technology Automotive organization within SABIC Petrochemicals. Functieomschrijving (inclusief taken en verantwoordelijkheden)

With fiber-filled plastic materials, the deflection of the part is highly driven by the fiber orientation. Improved capabilities in 3D injection molding simulations give rise to the question what the optimal settings are to predict the fiber orientation and warpage of a (complex) part accurately for long glass fiber filled materials.
Your assignment will be to investigate the different fiber orientation models in the software and their parameters to find the most optimal and robust settings to predict the fiber orientation and the resulting warpage. This will achieve by performing sensitivity studies and correlation studies with existing experimental data at plaque level and then on complex automotive parts

Profiel van geschikte kandidaat

  • Bachelor or Master student
  • Good knowledge of English language
  • Some knowledge of Autodesk-Moldflow 3D or Moldex 3D software
  • Eager to learn more about simulation techniques, injection molding and automotive applications
  • Good communication skills and able to work independently on defined tasks
