DEPARTMENT
The primary activity of the Feedstocks & Cracker EU department is to define and to work out research projects aimed at the optimization of existing petrochemical processes and development of new ones.

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Liquid steam cracking of hydrocarbons produces multiple products like ethylene, propylene, different C4s and benzene, toluene and xylene for instance. To stay competitive, feedstocks need to be analysed in terms of processability, and cracking yields. These analyses generate a considerable amount of data that needs to be interpreted towards giving a recommendation to the main stakeholders. To increase the agility of this procedure and ease the learning process, a SQL database has been built. Your task will be filling the database with existing results first, then developing a tool for automatic report generation and performing statistical analysis on the data. You will be working together with the project team and supervised by an experienced team member.

Functie eisen

- You are doing your B.Sc. or M.Sc. in chemical or process engineering and you are looking for an internship at a company for a period of 3-6 months.
You have an affinity for statistical methods and you are familiar with VBA programming. Having some experience in SQL is a plus.
 
- Experience with statistical tools like JMP or Minitab for instance is desired. We expect that you can work on your own but do not hesitate to interact with your team or other departments whenever needed. The company language is English.
