Role & Department
Canon EMEA is looking for an Application Specialist for our  Wide Format and Cutsheet portfolio to support the Developing Region Business Group (DRBG). In this role you are is responsible for applying specific product/application related technical and operational expertise at the Customer Experience Centre (CEC) in Venlo. In this role you are further more supporting Regional Sales Organisations (RSOs) and  partners demonstrations, application testing / validation and sample printing. Last but not least you are pro-actively supporting the transition to focus on applications that drive profitability growth.

As an Application Specialist you will be responsible for:

• Providing operational support in media verification, testing, and profiling.
• Delivering interactive product presentations & demonstrations.
• Strong international communication and project delivery skills.
• Creating & cascading relevant competitive intelligence expert knowledge to the application consultants’ team.
• Assuring pristine and ready-to-use condition of assigned equipment at CEC as central key owner/central point of contact.
• Doing demo support which means preparation, advise, execution and follow-up of RSO/partner demos at CEC.
• The role requires travel to engage in local events, exhibitions, and customer meetings to support RSOs and partners if necessary.
• Preparing and produce, standard and customized samples, sample kits, give-aways and application showcases in the CEC.
• Supporting the Application Team Lead to collect, capture and archive all detailed application information to maximize knowledge share and minimize duplication and finally you provide operational support in media verification, testing and profiling.

Functie eisen

For this role, you will have:

• A track record of application knowledge across typical wide format graphics/Cutsheet printing applications.
• Operational experience with printing/finishing hardware, software, and solutions knowledge (recommended).
• In-depth knowledge of printing media and graphical skills to evaluate prints.
• Colour management/customer workflow experience & knowledge.
• (Higher) Vocational (Dutch: MBO/HBO) level education in technology/engineering.
• You bring extensive experience working in a large, complex A-brand organization and you have a track record in wide format graphics printing applications. It is a great advantage if you have operational experience with printing/finishing hardware, software and solutions knowledge of the assigned equipment.
• You have to bring along in-depth knowledge about printing media and graphical skills and experience to evaluate prints.
• Finally you are an international communicator, and naturally you can communicate on business level in languages – English fluent, other languages desirable (e.g. German, French, Spanish).
